Feb. 6 through April 30. Tuesday mornings, 10-12:30 Mountain Time. Zoom. Nonrefundable, but transferable.

Ready to hang their hat on a regular writing practice this spring? Maybe you simply want to keep track of your life, or maybe you want to write some visceral passages. Like all my classes, it'll use great excerpts from literature to guide us in writing scenes that are entirely our own, yet informed by some of the nimble literary footwork of the greats.

I have written SO MANY PROMPTS in my 14 years of teaching, and this will be a smogarbord of my absolute favorites. These will be exercises that have spurred my students to write gobsmackingly good stuff. And writing gobsmackingly good stuff often has the side effect of healing she (or he) who wrote it.

As David Whyte said: "Articulate the nature of your exile, and you're on your way home."

WRITERS OF ALL LEVELS AND GENRES ARE WELCOME TO THIS CLASS!

You'll be expected to read a literary excerpt (provided by me) before each class. If you need to miss a class, I'll send you a link to a recording of that class so you can make it up.

I only offer refunds for true medical emergencies, so please be sure this class is for you if you haven't worked with me before. This sample class will give you a perfect preview of what's ahead, or you can contact me here to set up a phone chat.

Who's the teacher? Me, Lisa Jones, author of the award-winning memoir, BROKEN: A Love Story. I've taught creative writing for 15 years. You can read more about my classes at my website here.

noon-2:30 p.m. Eastern Time

11-1:30 Central Time.
